After the fall of Napoleon, the Duchy of Parma went to his wife Marie Louise of Austria. The Colorno Palace became her favourite residence, where she improved the garden.

Today the palace has been restored and is open to the public.

Reggia di Colorno is also a venue for cultural and private events, such as concerts, weddings...
