The Crawford Art Gallery, located in the Cork Customs House (1724), is dedicated to the visual arts, both historic and contemporary, displaying an extensive collection, ranging from eighteenth-century Irish and European painting and sculpture, to contemporary video installations.
The gallery is famous for its collection of Greek and Roman sculpture casts by Canova, given in 1818 by the Prince Regent (George IV) who brought them from the Vatican Museum.
