Gallerie dell'Accademia, located in the Scuola della Carità, is world famous for its collection of masterpieces of Venetian painting up to the 18th century. The visitors can admire the works of Leonardo da Vinci, Antonello da Messine, Gentile, Bellini, Bellotto, Canaletto, Lebrun, Tintoretto, Tiepolo, Titian...and many more.

Leonardo's 'Vitruvian Man' is preserved here, but rarely displayed.

The Scuola della Carità was the oldest of the six Scuola Grandi, whereas the building dates from 1343. The facade was made by Bartolomeo Bon and finished in 1441.
