Isola Madre is the "Mother", largest and first to be inhabited, of the Verbano Islands. It is closely linked to the Borromeo family since 1502. Its Palazzo with its beautiful interior, the English-style park and rich vegetation have become classical tourist attractions.
The Palace with family furniture, tapestries, chinas, family portraits, etc., gives the visitor a good idea of the aristocratic lifestyle through the centuries.
The park and gardens are renowned all over the world for its refined botanical collections.
