Some years later it was expanded by the second owners, the Echevarría–Echevarrieta family. Since 1990 it is in the hands of the City of Malaga.

The gardens are divided in two parts: a historic/artistic centre of around 3 ha, and the surrounding Botanic Garden, which can be visited by thematic routes.

The estate contains a variety of buildings, such as the Museo Loringiano, housing the archeological objects Jorge Loring acquired from the excavations of Malaga and the province.

The Finca de la Concepción is also a venue for corporate and private events, such as reception, weddings...
