The Museum of Romanticism is a house-museum, located in the former palace of the Marquis of Matallana (built in 1776), presenting the cultural, political and everyday aristocratic life in Madrid of that time, through its stunning collection of 19th-century paintings, furniture and decorative art.

You can admire works by Goya, Esquivel, Madrazo, Alenza and the Bécquer brothers, ceramics from Sargadelos and Sèvres, jewellery from ebonite, lava and human hair, a collection of porcelain dolls, 15 pianos, imperial and Isabelline furniture...

The mansion has Magnolia Garden, landscaped in the French style of the 18th Century.
