Gardens & Parks, Museums & Art Centres
The Liebermann Villa was the summer residence of the renowned jewish gentleman painter Max Liebermann (1847-1935), the co-founder and head of the Berlin Secession, and where he painted around 200 paintings. Some of these works are displayed in his former studio.
The elegant villa, completed and designed by the architect Baumgarten, is located at the shores of Lake Wannsee and surrounded by a beautiful garden, with the villa at the centre.
Liebermann was also head of the Prussian Academy of Arts, but resigned before the Nazi regime would have dismissed him.
