Museo Atelier Canova Tadolini

Museums & Art Centres
The Museo Atelier Canova Tadolini was for a long time the atelier of the famous sculptor Antonio Canova’s (1757-1822). The study was later given by the sculptor in bailment to his pupil Adamo Tadolini, founder of four generations of sculptors, who all worked here.

The 4 generations of Tadolinis, Adamo, Giulio, Scipione, and Enrico operated in Rome between 1808 and 1967. They created over 500 works, scattered all over the world.

The atelier was later sold by the Tadolini heirs and purchased by the Benucci Antiquarian Gallery.

The artistic heritage of the study, consisting of about 400 works, between sketches, casts, documents, and instruments has been notified by the Italian State and therefore cannot be sold or moved.

There is a cozy cafe/bar serving Roman pasta dishes & drinks, while you are seated amid classical sculptures.
