Museumsdorf Düppel
Museums & Art Centres
The Museumsdorf Düppel, built in 1970, is an open-air museum on around 12 ha, representing a reconstructed village from the Middle Ages, as well as an archeological test centre. The visitors can see homes, granaries, workshops, wells, fields and gardens.
The museum-village is located at the site of a former settlement, dating back to 1200, which was uncovered in 1967.
On special days members of the association present medieval crafts, such as pottery, weaving, basket weaving and tar making.
