The National Gallery belongs to the group of best visited museums in the world, with an exquisite collection, representing the major art periods in Western painting. The collection, started in the first half of the 19th century, consists for the main part of donations.
The building dates back to 1832-1838 and as designed by William Wilkins, whereas the Postmodernist Sainsbury Wing dates from 1991 and was designed by Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown.
The museum is also a venue for Film, TV, Photo shooting, corporate and private events such as meetings, conferences, receptions, weddings...
