Palmengarten Frankfurt (22 ha), formerly known as “Biebricher Winter Gardens”, was acquired from the botanically inclined Duke Adolph of Nassau in 1866, and further developed under the guidance of Heinrich Siesmayer, a renowned horticulturist.
After the WWII, from the sixties, a major reconstruction was completed in 1992.
The garden has many features such as the Palm House, a Rose Garden, the Great Pond, the Rock Garden and Grotto, the Blossom House, the Bamboo Grove, the Subantarctic House, the Steppe and Prairie, Water Lilies & Tropicarium, the Succulent Garden...
The “Palmen-Express“ will take the visitors around the Palmengarten.
