Burnby Hall and Gardens (3.64 ha, 9 acres), were bequeathed in 1962 to the people of Pocklington by Major Percy Marlborough Stewart and his wife Katharine. The gardens comprise Upper and Lower lakes, an ornamental bridge, the Secret Garden, the Aviary Garden, the Victorian Garden, the Edwardian Rock Garden and a Stumpery.

The two lakes are housing a large collection of water lilies, and lots of fish. Feeding the fish is permitted, fishing not!

The Hall is housing the Steward Museum, dedicated to the travels of Major Percy Stewart and the eight World Tours he and his wife undertook between 1906 and 1926.

We welcome pre-booked wedding parties for wedding photographs.
