Chateau de la Motte-Tilly, surrounded by a beautiful park, is a fully furnished castle in the taste of the eighteenth century. It was built in 1754 for Terray, Comptroller General of Finance of Louis XV. 

The castle, was restored in 1910 by Count de Rohan Chabot and the Marquise de Maillé, his only child, elegantly furnished and redecorated it. 

She inherited this beautiful property of totally 1080 ha from her farther, but unfortunately her own daughter and unique child died before her, leaving her without direct descendants. Consequently she decided to bequeath it to the state, under condition that everything stays intact.
