Dalmeny House

Castles & Country Houses, Event, Film & Wedding Hire, Gardens & Parks, Private Collections
Dalmeny House, the first Tudor Revival style house built in Scotland, is the home of the 7th Earl and Countess of Rosebery. Although a private house, it is open to the public for viewings and corporate events.

The House contains two intermingled collections of art and objects: the Rosebery and Rothschild collections. The 5th Earl was married to Hannah de Rothschild, only daughter of Baron Meyer de Rothschild. The latter, a keep art collector, built Mentmore Towers which he filled with an impressive collection. Although Mentmore Towers had to be sold because of death duties in 1974, many of the best objects were brought to Dalmeny House and can be admired today.

Dalmeny House is surrounded by park and woodland garden overlooking the Firth of Forth. There is also a twelfth century castle on the estate. It was the family home of the Rosebery family until Dalmeny House was built in the early nineteenth century.

Fishing on the estate!
