The Favorite Palace was build for Markgravine Sybilia Augusta of Baden-Baden as a hunting lodge and "maison de plaisance" early 18th century. It displays a beautiful collection of Chinese porcelain, black lacquerwork and Schwartz Porcelain.
It is the oldest of the German so-called "porcelain palaces", and the only one complete intact to this day.
The Favorite palace is also well known for its English-style garden, created by the famous garden architect Johann Michael Schweyckert (1754–1806)
Schloss Favorite Rastatt is also a venue for cultural, corporate and private events, such as theatre, concerts, banquets, weddings...
