The Martin-Gropius-Bau is an important exhibition venue for contemporary and archaeological exhibitions. The building, in neo-Renaissance style, was built between 1877-1881 by the architects Martin Gropius, a great uncle of the Bauhaus architect Walter Gropius, and Heino Schmieden.
