Musée Balzac - Château de Saché, opened since 1951, is a castle where the famous writer Honoré de Balzac (1799 – 1850)  wrote many of his novels. The château was owned by his friend Jean de Margonne, his mother's lover.

Château de Saché dates back to the 12th century, but was later transformed in the 16th and 18th centuries.

The Balzac museum's collections hold around 2300 pieces of sculptures, paintings, prints, manuscripts, engravings, drawings, photographs, printing equipment and furniture.

The Château is also a venue for corporate events, such as seminars and receptions.
