Villa Torlonia & Gardens, now a museum, were constructed originally from early 1800s for the bankers family Torlonia. In 1925 it was given to Mussolini, which he used as his permanent residence.

It was bought by the city of Rome in 1977, whereas the building and gardens were gradually restored.

The present museum contains part of the former Torlonia collection with works of artists like Bartolomeo Cavaceppi (1716–1799), Antonio Canova, furniture...

The site is also used for cultural, corporate and private events, such as concerts, dinners...
