The National Museum of Scotland is the result of the merger in 2006 between the former Museum of Scotland and the Royal Scottish Museum, whereas the former neighbouring buildings are today connected with each other.
The museum contains large collections related to Scottish antiquities, culture and world cultures, history and natural history.
The museum is part of the National Museums of Scotland.
