Rozmberk Castle

Castles & Country Houses, Museums & Art Centres
Rožmberk Castle, with its almost 800 years old history linked to the families of the Rožmberks, Švamberks, Buquoys , etc., and its richly decorated, furnished interiors, is open to the public, also in the winter months.

The Counts de Buquoy, originally from France, have owned the castle from 1620 until 1945, when it was confiscated. The castle was reconstructed in the 19th century and houses a rich collection of paintings, portraits (the White Lady, Perchta von Rosenberg) , armoury, furniture and other artefacts, which you find in beautiful rooms and halls such as the Crusade Gallery, the Knight's Hall and the private apartments including the Dinning Room, Study, Salon and Billiard Room.
