The Schlossmuseum Linz

The Schlossmuseum Linz dates already back to 799 and was transformed into a castle-residence in 1477 by the Emperor Friedrich III. It was transformed again into is a Mannerist building by Emperor Rudolf II (1604).
The Schlossmuseum, is dedicated to art in the federal state of Upper Austria from the Middle Ages to the 21th century, including a substantial weaponry collection. In addition there are Collections relating to folk arts and handicrafts, as well as a 19C picture gallery.
