Monuments & Sites, Museums & Art Centres
The Scuola Grande di San Rocco, established in 1478 as the seat of the confraternity San Rocco, is famous for its unique collection of paintings by Tintoretto. All the works in the Scuola are by him, his son Domenico or his assistants.
These works were executed between 1564 and 1587, whereas they form together the biblical story from Fall to Redemption.
The building itself was the work of the architects Bartolomeo Bon, Sante Lombardo and Antonio Scarpagnino.
