Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks, Museums & Art Centres
Vrchotovy Janovice Castle, dating back to the 14th century, has been saved by and is presently part of the National Museum of Prague.

The castle is closely linked to its last private owner, Baroness Sidonia Nádherná of Borutín, an art-loving lady and friend of many artists and personalities from the19th century European and Czech society such as Rainer Maria Rilke, Karl Kraus, Adolf Loos, Princess Mechtilde Lichnowsky,  Max Vabinský, Viktor Stretti, Karel Čapek, Antonín Podlaha,  and Camillo Schneider.

Today the castle, surrounded by a recently restored landscape park, houses exhibitions dedicated to above mentioned "house-guests", and Czech bell making.
