In the 1990s, the heiress, Marie Christine Wolff Metternich, decided after looking back on an almost thousand-year history of the princes and old earls of Salm-Reifferscheidt-Dyck to look for a way to use the castle which would secure its existence as an important castle complex in the Rhineland. Based on a conceptual design by the Rhineland regional authority, the Stiftung Schloss Dyck was established as a Centre for Garden Art and Cultural Landscape. 

Schloss Dyck is also a venue for cultural, corporate and private events, such as concerts, receptions, weddings...
