Dieskau Castle

Castles & Country Houses, Event, Film & Wedding Hire, Gardens & Parks
Dieskau Castle has undergone many building phases from mid 15th until the 19th century according to the style of the moment. In the second half of the 18th century, the owner Carl Christoph von Hoffmann created the 67 ha landscape park inspired by the Wörlitz gardens.

St. Anne's Church, which is originally romanesque, was rebuilt in baroque style in 1725 and is part of the castle ensemble.

During the DDR castle and park were seriously neglected.

Presently, supported by the friends of Dieskau Park, the municipality of Kabelsketal has been working since 1998 to return step by step the park to their original condition such as the Chinese tea house, the obelisk, and the statue of Flora.

In addition, the castle found a new owner, Thymo von Rauchhaupt. He and his family are giving new life to the complex by opening it up to the public and organizing events.

Access to the park is free and the castle can be visited by guided tours.
