East Bohemian Museum is a museum in a historic building, built in 1909-1912 and designed by Jan Kotěra, a renowned architect of his time. The museum's permanent exhibitions cover everything from geology and archaeological finds to historical artefacts, ceramics, metalwork and jewellery including Queen Eliška Pomořanska’s gem encrusted belt from the late 1300s.
There are also temporary exhibitions.
The museum building and cultural heritage landmark, is an asymmetrical four storey building of red brick and tan masonry which ushered in a new era in architecture in the Czech lands.
