Firle has been the home of the Gage family for over 500 years. Today, it is lived in by Henry Nicholas, 8th Viscount (b. 1934 -) and his family. Firle Place contains one of the most significant and historic private collections of old master paintings, furniture and porcelain in Southern England
Firle Place is also a venue for sporting (clay pigeon shooting), corporate and private events.
The estate encompasses several picturesque downland villages, where visitors can enjoy rural live.
