Frystat Castle is an Empire-style chateau, surrounded by a landscape park, covering 36 ha. Its history is closely linked to its founders, the Piast princes from Těšín, and that of its last owners, the Larisch-Mönnich family.

It was Countess Marie Louisa Larisch, at first the Empress Sissi's favorite, but who was later infamously associated with the Mayerling scandal and the death of Prince Rudolf. At Mayerling he committed suicide with his mistress Maria Vetser.

The restored chateau and the ‘Lottyhaus’ building are giving a good idea about the life of the aristocracy at the turn of the 20th century.

One of the chateau’s function rooms is used for weddings on the first Saturday in every month, as well as for occasional chamber music concerts.
