Palais de Luxembourg was built for Marie de Medicis (wife of Henri IV of France ) in 1612, and is presently the seat if the French Senate. The Palace is surrounded by famous (23 ha) gardens. 

The palace can be visited by guided tours for groups, not exceeding 40 people.

The grounds include traditional French gardens, English-style gardens, an orangery, the fruit garden and the hothouses (only open to the public on European heritage days).

The access to the gardens is free.
