Wrest Park

Wrest Park has been the home for over 600 years of the Grey family, one of the historic leading aristocratic families of the country. The house as we see it today was built in the 1830s in French Baroque style and is surrounded by 37 ha (92 acres) of garden, modelled by three centuries of English landscape design. (17th, 18th and 19th century)

Unfortunately, the house was sold in 1917 and the majority of its collections dispersed. Some items, such as several portraits, remained in the house.

Today the house is owned by the English Heritage and started an extensive restoration project, which should be completed in 2026.
