Castle Rosenau is the birthplace of Price Albert, husband of Queen Victoria. Rosenau is an outstanding early example of romantic Historicism in Bavaria. In 1990 the palace became, after a renovation, a museum.
The museum is representing the knight’s seat recreated in a romantic sentimental spirit (Romantic Historicism) by Duke Ernst I, Prince Albert's father.
The castle is surrounded by a 36 ha landscape park with numerous romantic elements.
