Monuments & Sites, Museums & Art Centres
The Coudenberg Palace-Ruins are the archaeological remains of the Coudenberg Palace. The palace, dating back to the 12th century, was once the sumptuous power centre and one of the main residences of historic rules such as Emperor Charles V (1500 – 1558).
The palace was severely damaged by a fire in 1731 and later pulled down in order to allow the construction of the present royal district.
