The Galleria d'Arte Moderna, housed in the Villa Reale, is a modern art museum, featuring mainly Italian and European works from the 18th to the 20th centuries. The Villa Reale, or Villa Belgiojoso Bonaparte, was built between 1790 and 1796 as the residence of Count Ludovico Barbiano di Belgiojoso.
The villa was designed by Leopoldo Pollack and is in Neoclassical style, whereas the gardens of the villa, are in English style but also designed by Leopoldo Pollack.
