The Commanderie de Peyrassol was founded in the 13th century by the Knights Templar. It was staging post and a place of rest for large numbers of pilgrims setting off for the Holy Land. As one of the jewels of Provence, the domaine has always maintained its agricultural and wine-growing traditions.

Passionate about contemporary art, Philippe Austruy created a wonderful a venue dedicated to contemporary art. The domaine has now a 'Prime League' monumental sculpture park showcasing the work of top artists such as Daniel Buren, Dubuffet, Bertrand Lavier...
