The Mendelssohn-Remise, part of the Mendelssohn Society, is a permanent exhibition telling the history of the bank and the family, their art patronage, social and charitable activities, their relations with leading figures in the fields of business, science, music and visual arts.
During the 19th century the Mendelssohn Bank had developed into the most important private bank in Berlin all the way up to its forced liquidation in 1938 by the Nazis.
