The estate covers 1,200 hectares of forests and fields, including a park of about 10 hectares including also the chapel and the crypt. It was built in 1880 for the owner of the castle, Countess Georgina Batthyany. She was married the Austrian Count von Saint Julien von und zu Wallsee. The last administrator of the castle was Friderik Wallsee.

Today, the art gallery offers space for contemporary art exhibitions by local and foreign artists.

With the Rakičan Mansion Research and Education Center contributes significantly to tourism, education, research, culture and awareness in the region.
