Schloss vor Husum has taken up the challenge to become a true cultural centre with piano festival, concerts, lectures, museum, reconstructed garden, private events, special exhibitions at the new gallery in the attic, guided tours...
The museum is located in the central part of the castle and the visitors get a taste of the life-style from the former owners, the House of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf.
The staterooms, bedchambers, the knight´s hall with its opulent fireplace depicting the mortal agony, the castle chapel and the royal box are shown to the public.
In particular the yearly piano festival "Rarities of Piano Music" (Raritäten der Klaviermusik), founded in 1986, became internationally well known.
