Gunby Estate has been the family home of the Massingberd family from 1700 until 1967. The house, its contents and around 610 ha (1,500 acres) of land, park and gardens, have been given by the family already in 1944 to the National Trust.
The house contains an important collection of furniture, portraits, porcelain, silver and other artefacts.
The over 40 ha (100 acres) of park is laid out in the style of Lancelot "Capability" Brown, whereas the gardens are in an informal English style, including large Victorian walled and kitchen gardens, lawns, an arboretum and carp pond.
Within the park lies St Peter's Church, rebuilt in 1870.
Gunby Estate is also a wedding venue.
