Jardins de la Fontaine is a 15 ha park, consisting of mainly two gardens: the traditional 18th century French garden, and the Mediterranean-Style garden.

The traditional 18th century French garden was created in 1745 at the request of Louis XV, by Jacques Philippe Mareschal. 

The second garden was created early 19th century by Augustin Cavalier, Mayor of Nîmes at the time.
