Eutin Castle originally belonged to the Lübeck prince-bishops, later it became the summer residence of the Dukes of Oldenburg. The castle houses a museum and is open to the public during the summer period.

It was regularly inhabited until the 20th century and most of the interior has survived to the present-day. Since 1992 it is owned by a family foundation headed by Anthon-Günther Duke of Oldenburg. The former Baroque garden was converted during the 18th and 19th century into an English landscaped park, which has become the location for the Eutin festivals.

Eutin is also a venue for corporate and private events, such as receptions, weddings...
