Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks
Achnacloich House was built mid-19th century, overlooking Loch Etive. It is the centre of a 2,000 ha (5,000 acres) estate, including grazed parkland, formal terraces, a walled kitchen garden and a woodland garden.
The 12 ha (30 acres) woodland garden is famous for its rhododendrons, magnolias, maples and sorbus.
Achnacloich is managed as a self catering Scottish Baronial house, with ten bedrooms and six bathrooms.
There is also an additional four-bedroom cottage, Rhunacairn.
Since 1890 the estate is in the hands of the Nelson family.
