Gardens & Parks, Museums & Art Centres
Botanical Gardens of Naples (Orto Botanico di Napoli) is a 15 ha botanical research garden of the University of Naples Frederico II, and was created in 1810. It contains around 25,000 samples of vegetation, covering about 10,000 plant species.

It houses also an ethnobotany part, where plants are researched that are potentially useful, medicinally, to humans. It is noteworthy that the garden houses a large 5000 square meter greenhouse, and a 17th century structure housing the  Museum of Paleobotany and Ethnobotany.
