Schloss Rosenburg
Castles & Country Houses, Event, Film & Wedding Hire, Gardens & Parks, Museums & Art Centres
Castle Rosenburg, first mentioned in 1175, is one of the most impressive and probably best preserved architectural monuments in Austria. Since 1681 it is in the hands of the Counts Hoyos-Sprinzenstein.
The castle, open to the public, contains beautifully preserved splendid and stately living rooms, and houses an extensive collection of weapons and equipment from the 15th to 18th centuries, as well as exhibition rooms and a falconry museum.
The architectural ensemble is framed by an impressive tournament courtyard. The gardens give an excellent insight into the garden architecture of the Renaissance.
