Wolfsberg Castle, or also knows as Henckel-Donnersmarck Castle, dates back to the 11th century. It was transformed into a fortress in the 16th century, due to the Turkish threats, whereas the castle got its present Tudor style in 1847-1853, after the industrialist Count Hugo Henckel von Donnersmarck had acquired the barony of Wolfsburg in 1846.

The Viennese architects were Johann Romano and August Schwendenwein. Also the castle grounds were reshaped, into a beautiful landscape garden.

Next to the main building, you find a former riding school, built in 1855.

Today the castle is owned by the Kärntner Montanindustrie (owned by the Henckel-Donnersmarck family), and is a venue for corporate and private events, such as banquets, seminars, receptions, weddings...The director is Andreas Graf Henckel von Donnersmarck, who lives there with his wife Johanna and four children.

The beautiful landscaped grounds are open to the public.
